Holy crap.

What a month.

A LOT has changed for me in a matter of a month.

Where to begin.

I did a lot of soul searching  in June. I was having a lot of self doubt. So much so that I even started applying for jobs — something that to me signaled that I was failing.

But, I wasn’t failing — or maybe I was — but I believe I was looking at it all wrong. I wanted to give you some insight into three big shifts I made in June that are positively benefiting my outlook on my own business and the services I’m offering to others.

Change 1 – Rebanded my online properties from Travis Marketing Solutions to Lisa Travis.

I’ve talked about this in a previous video, but I made this switch to personalize my brand. Working with me isn’t like working with a marketing agency and frankly, I don’t want it to be.

Change 2 – Cut the vendors.

This is a little embarrassing to admit, but I made a few organizational mistakes earlier this year. I wanted to be this tiny little one man marketing show with all the bells and whistles of a huge agency. Right after leaving my job, I went ahead and signed all these ridiculous vendor contracts that were far too expensive and really I did not need. In June, I focused on cutting down these contracts, reducing my overhead, and focusing only on what would bring results.

Change 3 – Simplified service offerings.

This really goes hand-in-hand with the previous change. When I cut out all the vendors, I cut out lot of work that I did not like doing. Instead I re-focused my services to only focus on the things I love and the things I’m truly good at. Instead of trying to do it all, I’m focusing on online business management, marketing strategy, social management, and content creation.

Like I said, big month right!?

If you’re interested in any of the services I just mentioned, I’m not booking for August. Send me an email at [email protected].
